Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Consumer Representative application form 2023

Closed 31 Oct 2023

Opened 28 Aug 2023

Overview

Thank you for applying for the role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Consumer Representative.

We are seeking Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander consumers and/or carers who have personal experience with or lived experience in public health care services (either yourself or close family or friend) is preferred.

Read the role description here.

Joining as a Health Consumer Representative with us means you can take part in committees, focus groups, recruitment panels, review documentation and other engagement activities.

You will need to volunteer a few hours of your time, depending on the activity and what you are interested in.

To take part in some activities, such as recruitment and selection, you may be asked to complete some short online training courses.

Without our health consumer representatives there is often no-one on a committee or interview panel who can represent a non-medical person or talk about lived experience and, in many cases, a broader community perspective.

A health consumer has an important role in consumer and community engagement and helps us to plan and make decisions.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive health consumer representation, reflective of our community.

To apply you need to live in the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service region. Queensland Health staff members are unable to apply.

Please answer the following questions. Your personal details will remain confidential and will only be used for consumer engagement activities co-ordinated by the health service.

Membership is current for 12 months.

We will remove your details at any time on your request.
