We are calling for patients, carers and health consumers (past or present) in the Central Queensland health region to be involved in our strategic committees and clinical networks. These roles require the valuable input of a formal health consumer representative.
You will need to volunteer a few hours of your time each month for reading and committee work. These roles are formal health consumer representative positions. This means you will need to go through an application and selection process and if successful be offered the ability to claim reasonable out of pocket expenses and a formal committee participation fee while in the role.
Health consumer representatives have a unique and essential role in our health service. Without our health consumer representatives there is often no-one on a committee who can represent a non-medical person and, in many cases, a broader community perspective. The health consumer has an important role in consumer and community engagement and will assist the health service with service planning and decision-making.
We are committed to a diverse and inclusive health consumer representation, reflective of our community.
You will not be required to have any specialist skills or health knowledge - let us focus on this.
Most strategic committees or clinical networks meet once a month, held in Rockhampton and have phone and video conference available.
Do I have the skills?
If yes, we need you!
